DuPage County, Illinois Inmate Search
A DuPage County inmate search is a public tool for finding out if someone is currently in custody and viewing basic information. This service is provided by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, which also manages the Correctional Facility. Results from an inmate search often show booking, charge, and housing information.
The Sheriff’s Office does not maintain records of DuPage County offenders sentenced to state prisons. The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) is the custodian of such records. Requesters may use the IDOC’s Individual in Custody Search portal to search for an inmate by name, number, or birthdate. On the other hand, inmates in federal prison may be located using the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ Inmate Locator.
DuPage County does not have municipal jails for long-term incarceration. While DuPage County residents can find immediate information from local arresting police departments, such as the Aurora Police Department and the Naperville Police Department, inmate inquiries should typically be directed to the Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to the main jail, DuPage County has other programs and facilities for specific populations, such as work-release programs and juvenile detention centers. These facilities often maintain separate rosters or records, and public access can vary depending on the type of facility and applicable privacy rules. The DuPage County Correctional Facility allows family and friends to visit inmates once a week for 30 minutes either remotely or in person. However, inmates with "trustee" status may have 60-minute visits per week. Every visitor must register for an account and schedule inmate visitations online. All visits must be scheduled between 1 and 10 days in advance. The maximum number of visitors per visit is 4, including minors. Adult visitors must show an unexpired photo ID.
Attorney and professional visits are also scheduled online and require proper identification from the visitor. Where the professional visitor needs a contact visit, they must submit to a pat search. The jail staff will search any item the attorney or professional wants to take into the contact booth for contraband.
Clergy visits must be approved by the Director of J.U.S.T. of DuPage at (630) 407-2201. Once approved, the visitor’s information is kept on file until the inmate is released. All Clergy visits are non-contact. Upon arrival at the jail, the clergy must present proper identification.
More information about visitation at the DuPage County Jail is available on the Sheriff’s website.
